Founder, Juliette Gordon Low, organized the first Girl Scout Troop on March 12, 1912, in Savannah, Georgia and it is still growing strong. Today, there are 3.7 million Girl Scouts—2.7 million girl members and 928,000 adult members working primarily as volunteers.
Girl Scouting empowers girls through enriching experiences; such as field trips, skill-building workshops, community service projects and cultural exchanges.
Girl Scouting also helps girls develope values to guide their actions, provide a sturdy foundation for decision-making and learn relationship skills; such as getting along with others, understanding differences and respect.
Girl Scouts will help improve our society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
